When we created Small Olive we wanted to define our measure of success as being so much more than how many bottles of Olive Oil we could sell so we made firm commitment to being a force for good and reinvesting a proportion of our profits into some things we believe are super important.

Healthy Eating Habits Begin Early
We all know how important it is that kids should eat well and yet ultra-processed foods have become the common denominator of everyday life for young people. So we decided to try and do something about it. Each year a proportion of our profits will be invested in providing exceptional olive oil to schools and support local youth organizations for free where possible. Helping to educate young people just how cool fat can be and encourage a more whole foods way of eating.
We’ve already started and we are proud to support grassroots football in the UK and we are working to partner with schools to help young people understand that healthier food choices don't need to be complicated and they can taste great. If you’re ever lucky enough to see a bunch of kids eating focaccia or sourdough with olive oil and happily screaming “Oliváki” you will understand why this is such a great idea.
A new era for farming
Making Farming Sexy Again
One of the biggest problems that many traditional industries face is a lack of interest from younger people. Never more true than for Olive Oil production where its difficult to make any money, it takes 15-20 years for a new tree to produce olives and lets face it its not AI, Crypto or investment banking. At least that is the reality today. We would like to change it.
By sharing the business expertise behind story of Oliváki with agricultural students at Greek colleges and letting them see behind the scenes of how a small farm on a sleepy hillside in Patras can end up on the shelves of a boutique grocery in Hollywood we hope to inspire and mentor a new generation of Olive Oil producers to turn 5000 years of heritage into something trying meaningful and exciting in todays world.

One of the biggest obstacles for small Olive Oil producers is how to develop, grow and keep up with the big guys is the fundamental problem of an industry that breaks even at best most of the time. So Small Olive is absolutely committed to helping our farmers bridge that gap with help, business advice and good old fashioned hard cash investment.
Taking a leaf out of the modern business playbook building your own infrastructure has its limits (particularly in terms of expertise) helping those who already have expertise is a much better strategy. We want our farmers to thrive alongside us, which is the direct opposite of what the Big Olive Oil industry is doing. That's why a proportion of our profits is reinvested directly into the grove, helping fund improvements that protect quality, sustainability and the future of small-scale farming.
